Lisa Morrow is a sociologist and writer of opinion essays, narrative travel essays and features. She’s published three books about contemporary life in Istanbul and Turkey, the most recent a memoir titled Waiting for the Tulips to Bloom: Adrift in Istanbul. Her blog Inside Out In Istanbul introduces readers to the everyday extraordinary of the city, as does her monthly spot on San Francisco Turkish Radio and audio walking tour Stepping back through Chalcedon: Kadikoy Walk. Her work has appeared in PRI, The Independent UK, Hyperallergic, and elsewhere.
