Edwin Battistella teaches linguistics and writing at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. His most recent book is Dangerous Crooked Scoundrels: Insulting the President, from Washington to Trump , which was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. He is the author of six books including Sorry About That: The Language of Public Apology , and his essays have appeared in Time Magazine, The Daily Beast, The Conversation, AEON, Huffington Post, Politico, Chronicle of Higher Education, Academe, and the Library Journal. Battistella contributes a monthly blog to Oxford University Press, called "Between the Lines" with Edwin Battistella .
